This is me. My name is Olivia.
I am a Registered Dietitian, and Founder of Akin.
After working in several specialist areas in the NHS, including Diabetes and Weight Management, there was something that did not sit quite right. I found it heartbreaking to turn away women because they did not meet a ‘referral criteria’, and listen to stories of couples trying to have a family who had been given one line of advice from their doctor: ‘just lose weight’.
I thought maybe there was something more I could do.
I felt strongly that with my knowledge and experience, I could bridge a gap. I wanted to work with people to create families with an emphasis on health and nurture. So I embarked on creating Akin.
From my base in North Devon, I support women and couples at any stage of their fertility journey - from ‘just thinking about it’, to having had several rounds of IVF.
